From a small company that imported a few watches in 1984 to a 2 billion turnover in 2011, The Fossil Group, as it is now, has had massive success. We take a quick look at the watches and why they have been so successful. As a bonus we also have a video which will give you access to a voucher code giving you an extra discount.
Fossil have created a niche in watches by recreating and redesigning watches from the 1940’s. The retro watches have proved a big success and have sold very well throughout the world. The fashion forward brand is constantly looking a new retro styles and never fail to deliver. At WatchHub we always look forward to the new seasons designs.
Not only have the watches proved popular, but so have the Fossil boxes, which have become collectors items in their own right.
It is fair to say Fossil have concentrated their efforts on men’s watches, which sell between £45-£120. As well as being well priced, they are relatively well made too.
The overall look is usually casual. There are however, a few watches that are capable of being worn at work with a suit. Most are made of steel and have either a leather of metal bracelet and are generally larger than the standard sized watches. The latest ‘black-out’ have proved very popular and are in keeping with current designs.
Most watches are quartz or battery operated, but there are a few mechanical watches in the range.
Although as mentioned earlier, Fossil is largely associated with men’s watches, they do have a great range of ladies watches which also have a very different look and feel to most other brands.
Below is our video, which shows you how you can get your hands on an exclusive discount voucher code. Although the video talks about men’s watches the voucher code can be used on both men’s and ladies’ watches.:-
The retro look of Fossil watches has continued as a current trend in fashion. We expect this look to continue for the foreseeable future. If you would like to view the latest range of Fossil watches you can click on the link below will will take you straight to the Fossil watches on our website. You can then use the “refine by” menu on the left hand side to narrow down the watches to your specification.
Our very own Priti Kay has been featured in the industry leading Watch Pro magazine.
Priti (find her on Google+) was asked by Watch Pro magazine to give her opinion on current issues relating to the watches market and chose to discuss the current situation regarding brands and how they are raising the bar when it comes to online retailers.
According to Priti there is a massive shake up happening as brands decide which online retailers they want to supply and which they don’t.
When vetting retail stores, brands have been very particular about which stores they authorise to sell their products. They have looked at many factors such as store location, the standard of fitting and even the people behind store. However, these standards were not as strictly enforced when it came to internet sellers. Well, not until now anyway.
Not having strict standards for internet retailers has led to heavy discounting as websites compete for online traffic and sales. While keen pricing is not a bad thing for consumers, it is when it comes at the cost of standards. Quality brands want to their retailers to set a certain standard. That could mean the standard of their website or the standard of their customer service.
At WatchHub, we believe in addition to fair and competitive pricing, it is the whole experience that is important to our customers and whatever we do, we do it in a way that creates and maintains confidence in us and our and ethos.
